Ha, who am I kidding? This is The Walking Dead! The grimmest option is typically the one the writers opt for! But, nevertheless, we can remain hopeful that the once-great series may return to its former glory, especially as season 9 will essentially be a soft reboot, or, as former showrunner Scott Gimple calls it a. When is The Walking Dead season 9 release date? This year has been no different, as that full-length previewed included the US premiere date of October 7, 2018. Sure, season 8 did drag, but at times it unleashed its brilliance in short bursts. Wait, so do we see Rick DIE in The Walking Dead season 9 trailer? The season 9 trailer has a lot going on. Might this be his death scene? What is The Walking Dead season 9 plot going to be about? The all-out war is over. How long will that last? Well, as the trailer signals, disharmony is en route as the various camps come to blows. We are set to head into the the New World Order arc from the comics, so that means we are getting a time jump. But before that: we at last meet The Whisperers. The comic book baddies made their debut in the final scenes of the trailer. In the comics, the Commonwealth consists of 50,000 people spread over several smaller communities, and most of them are wealthy survivors. While improvement is subjective, change is definitely a-coming. A clean slate may be the best thing for the show, and there are plenty of ways to move forward from there. Having her and Rick properly face-off in a battle of egos and philosophies would make for some genuinely engaging television. More one-off episodes The best The Walking Dead episode? Carol has barely done anything in two years, Michonne and Daryl, too. For too long, secondary characters have faded into the background to grimace and growl every time Rick and Negan lock horns — so why should we care about them?
